πŸš΄πŸ»β€β™€οΈ When The System Works For You

Two weeks ago my husband and I had dinner plans with another couple. It was our first time going out with them and we we're really excited because we'd be talking about this with them for quite some time and it was finally happening.

If you have kids, you know the curve balls they through you like our youngest has been for the past few weeks. She has LITERALLY gotten up every single night and come into our room and we have gotten up and brought her back to her room almost every time, there's been a few nights where I was like "just get in."

With all of this sleep regression happening, come the night of our dinner, I was absolutely wiped. It also had been raining all day which didn't help matters. I knew something needed to happen because I would be a real dud at dinner and yawning more times than I cared for so I decided to get on the Peloton and that's when everything changed.

I got on the bike with the intention of doing a 'low impact ride' or picking one of the instructors that isn't too hard but can lift my mood like Cody. Well I didn't go with either of those options, I chose Robin and still had the mindset of "I'm just going to do what I can regardless of what time of workout she's teaching." I had zero intentions of pushing myself, maybe a little sweat and that would be it.

Well before you know it, I was pushing myself harder than I anticipated. I was hitting the resistance levels and cadence levels and then some. Before I knew it, the ride was over and I was a completely different person. I was energized, my mood was better, and I knew I was going to be able to carry a conversation later that evening.

Looking back on it, there were two things that I noticed. One, the proof of exercise and how it can truly change your energy and mood.

The second was the system that was in place that made everything easy. All I had to do was get on the Peloton bike and select the workout, the framework was there. I just had to choose the workout.

The system is what set me up for success, just like the right organizing system can set you up for success whether it be the pantry, closet or garage.

When there's a bin with a label it makes it easy to find what you need or if a jar is empty you know what needs to be added to the grocery list or when there's a hook on the wall, all you have to do it hang the item effortlessly.

When there is a good system in place, everything is easier. When things are easier, life runs smoother.

The wild month of May. It’s like riding a rollercoaster, your up, down, and holding on for dear life. It really is the December of the first half of the year. The end of the school year has all the schedules turned upside down with class parties, concerts, themed weeks, sport schedules and games, what else am I forgetting?! πŸ˜‰ We've been knee deep in some pretty big moves here in Charlotte. Moving is a HUGE undertaking. We personally have moved a handful of times and as someone who loves being...

Last week I hopped on the Peloton to start a workout. For whatever reason, the bike was not syncing to the internet. I did the routine turn off and turn on the machine, plus unplugged it. Did this a few times and nothing worked. At this point, I'm close to 10-minutes into my workout time and haven't started a thing. I knew calling tech support was the next step but didn't have the time or patience to deal with it so I finally decided to do my own workout. As someone who grew up playing sports...

Two weekends ago, we were at the baseball fields (shocking) and our oldest was looking for something to eat. If you have ever been in the baseball world, you know it's a full day event. When we leave in the morning, you'd think we were packing for a weekend trip. There are the chairs, the wagon, the scooters, dolls and activities for the girls and of course the cooler full of snacks and food for the day. Baseball games have the "snack shack" that I loathe. It's full of candy and all of the...
