πŸ’Ž One Simple Change Can Make A World Of A Difference

THE RESET

Setting You Up For Organizing Success

Jewelry. It's one of the more challenging items to organize. It's similar to toys where there are multiple sizes of things and you're trying to figure out how to organize it all.

I am not a big jewelry person so there's not much to organize however I am a visual person so if I don't see if I'm going to forget to wear it which is why I'd been using a necklace tower and earrings holder for the past few years.

It worked well, I liked it but there was something that was driving me nuts about it every time I walked into the closet. It was like this big object shouting "look at me, look at me" which I did but it wasn't flowing.

Knowing how my brains works, I set out to find a new organizer where I could see it all yet somehow conceal it.

Through a number of online searches and visiting a few retailers in-person, The Container Store came up with the winner.

Stackers Supersize Deep 11-Section Tray Pebble Grey

This tray had a number of different compartments which allowed necklaces, bracelets, and earrings all to be organized in one location. I wasn't totally convinced it was going to work but was the best solution that I had found so far. It was and still is 40% off so that helped too ;)

I got home and made the change and the most surprising thing of it all wasn't how it was organized, it was how I felt when I walked into the closet, calm. There weren't any necklaces, bracelets, or earrings of different colors or styles disrupting my thoughts.

Everything is still in one location and I'm able to carry around the tray or move it without any jewelry pieces falling off or out of it. Plus, this system has the ability to stack and so I can add more trays if needed.

When we are surrounded with things that are visually appealing to us, it's calming. The opposite is true if we are surrounded with to many items, it's frustrating and confusing to our brains. We are making our brains work harder than they need to be. There's enough going on in your life, it doesn't need to be more complicated.

Simplify and surround yourself with colors and textures that pleases your brain. You'll be surprised at how one small change can make life easier.

The wild month of May. It’s like riding a rollercoaster, your up, down, and holding on for dear life. It really is the December of the first half of the year. The end of the school year has all the schedules turned upside down with class parties, concerts, themed weeks, sport schedules and games, what else am I forgetting?! πŸ˜‰ We've been knee deep in some pretty big moves here in Charlotte. Moving is a HUGE undertaking. We personally have moved a handful of times and as someone who loves being...

Last week I hopped on the Peloton to start a workout. For whatever reason, the bike was not syncing to the internet. I did the routine turn off and turn on the machine, plus unplugged it. Did this a few times and nothing worked. At this point, I'm close to 10-minutes into my workout time and haven't started a thing. I knew calling tech support was the next step but didn't have the time or patience to deal with it so I finally decided to do my own workout. As someone who grew up playing sports...

Two weekends ago, we were at the baseball fields (shocking) and our oldest was looking for something to eat. If you have ever been in the baseball world, you know it's a full day event. When we leave in the morning, you'd think we were packing for a weekend trip. There are the chairs, the wagon, the scooters, dolls and activities for the girls and of course the cooler full of snacks and food for the day. Baseball games have the "snack shack" that I loathe. It's full of candy and all of the...
